With over 20 years experience in the property market, Gavin knows exactly what it takes to get a property over the line. After years of managing successful teams and working with some of the industry’s biggest names, Gavin decided to do things his way; no nonsense, just people and property.
That’s why he founded Sheppard & Bear, a new name on the block, but backed by two decades of hands-on, local experience. This isn’t about reinventing the wheel. It’s about doing the basics brilliantly, being transparent, and offering a flexible service that fits around real lives.
Since COVID, everything has changed. How people work, how they move and what they expect. That is why Sheppard & Bear offer appointments outside of regular hours. They offer evenings, weekends and even Sundays if needed. Because moving home doesn’t fit neatly into a 9–5, and neither do we.
Gavin is Propertymark qualified, so you can trust that he works to the highest standards of professionalism and ethics. But above all, he brings years of proven results, knowing how to spot the right buyer, how to close a deal, and how to guide people through every step with clarity and confidence.
And just to add a bit of colour, you may have seen him on TV over the years:
- Gavin featured on Rod Gilbert’s Work Experience (Rod joined him as an estate agent for a week. You can still catch it on YouTube),
- Gavin appeared on BBC’s X-Ray with Lucy Owen, giving property advice.
- Gavin also had the honour of marrying his husband, Luke, live on ITV’s Lorraine as part of a national celebration of 10 years of same-sex marriage. It was a proud, public reminder that love is love and that inclusivity and progress matter.
- and most recently, shared his own property renovation journey on Channel 4’s Worst House on the Street. Check it out on catch up.
Gavin is also a singer and entertainer and has performed locally for over 25 years. Aside from Estate Agency, he has been a local treasure of the community bringing an abundance of happiness and joy.
So yes, Sheppard & Bear may be the fresh face in town, but certainly no newcomer. If you want experience that counts and a service built around how you actually live, give Sheppard & Bear a call.
